"Here are both takes of "Bless Your Beautiful Hide," "Wonderful, Wonderful Day," and "Spring! Spring! Spring!" from "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers."
The film was released in Cinemascope (2.55 - the lower image), but every scene was also shot in a more standard ratio (1.77 - the upper image), due to concerns that Cinemascope might not be successful. (In the end, the standard ratio version was never released, and the money could've been used to build more believable sets!)
Since the playback tracks are identical, the two different takes can be synched and compared. Amazing how the actors are able to match their performances from take to take."
